Our Pond Maintenance Services

Pond Dredging

Pond dredging removes the decades of sediment, silt, and organic matter that gradually fill a pond basin — restoring depth, improving water quality, and giving your pond another generation of useful life. Dura Land Solutions provides pond dredging services across East Texas, from small stock ponds that have shallowed out to larger fishing lakes that need serious cleanup to produce fish again.

Pond Restoration & Repair

Pond restoration covers everything between a pond that's struggling and a pond that works again. Leaking basins, eroded shorelines, weed-choked shallows, turbid water that never clears, failing banks — Dura Land Solutions diagnoses and fixes pond problems across East Texas, restoring function without requiring you to start from scratch.

Dam Repair

Dam repair is the most time-sensitive service we offer. An earthen dam that's seeping, slumping, or showing signs of piping failure needs professional attention before the next big rain — not after it. Dura Land Solutions repairs farm pond dams and earthen embankments throughout East Texas, from minor erosion repairs to full dam reconstruction.

Spillway Repair

Spillway failure is the leading cause of earthen dam failure in Texas. When the pipe spillway or emergency spillway can't handle a storm event, water overtops the dam — and an overtopped earthen dam can fail in minutes. Dura Land Solutions repairs pond spillways throughout East Texas, from pipe replacements to emergency spillway restoration.

Spillway Construction

Spillway construction on a new or existing pond is where safety meets design. An undersized spillway is the single most dangerous deficiency a pond can have. Dura Land Solutions installs properly engineered spillway systems on new ponds and existing ponds that were built without adequate overflow structures throughout Walker County and East Texas.

Pond Maintenance Services Across East Texas

An East Texas pond that was built well and maintained properly will outlast the people who built it. One that was built poorly — or built well but neglected — will be a shallow, silted, weed-choked problem in 15 to 20 years. Dura Land Solutions provides the full range of pond maintenance services for rural landowners across Walker, Montgomery, Grimes, Madison, San Jacinto, Trinity, Leon, and Houston Counties: pond dredging, pond restoration and repair, dam repair, spillway repair, and spillway construction.

Most pond maintenance needs come down to two things: the pond basin filling in with sediment over time, and the dam and spillway structures deteriorating. We handle both, and we do it honestly — if your dam needs a targeted repair, we'll tell you that. If it needs to be rebuilt, we'll tell you that too. East Texas landowners don't need guesswork from a contractor. They need a straightforward assessment and work done right.

How to Know When Your Pond Needs Attention

Most pond problems announce themselves if you're paying attention. Water levels that drop faster than evaporation explains, wet or boggy ground on the dry face of your dam, aquatic vegetation taking over areas that used to be open water, turbidity that never clears after rain, fish kills in summer heat — these are symptoms of specific, fixable problems. Pond dredging addresses siltation. Pond restoration handles a wider range of basin and shoreline issues. Dam repair addresses structural dam problems before they become failures.

The single most important thing any pond owner can do is walk the dam and shoreline after every significant storm event. Most dam failures don't happen without warning signs that appeared weeks or months earlier. Catching them early means a repair scope instead of a rebuild. Call (936) 355-3471 if you're seeing any of these signs — we'll schedule a free on-site evaluation and give you a clear picture of what your pond actually needs.

How often should an East Texas pond be maintained?

There's no fixed schedule that applies to every pond. A pond surrounded by established pasture and timber with a healthy watershed will need far less attention than one draining row crops or heavily grazed pasture. At a minimum, inspect your dam and spillway annually — especially after major storm events — and monitor water levels and clarity through the seasons. Sediment cleanouts are typically needed every 15 to 30 years depending on your watershed conditions.

Can you maintain an existing pond without draining it?

Many maintenance tasks — shoreline stabilization, erosion repair, vegetation management, minor dam face work — can be done at normal water levels. Dredging and sediment removal require at least a partial drawdown. Dam and spillway pipe repairs typically require drawing the pond down significantly. We evaluate the specific work required and recommend the minimum drawdown needed.

Do you service ponds you didn't originally build?

Yes. Most of our pond maintenance work is on ponds built by others, often years or decades ago. We evaluate the structure as it exists, identify what's causing problems, and give you a repair recommendation that fits the actual condition of the pond. We're not here to rebuild things that don't need rebuilding.
