Site Preparation for Metal Buildings
Metal buildings demand precise site preparation — anchor bolt layouts require exact elevation, and an out-of-level pad makes metal building erection difficult and expensive. Dura Land Solutions prepares metal building sites across East Texas to the tolerances that steel erectors require, from agricultural shops to large commercial spans.

Site Preparation for Home Construction
Building a new home in East Texas requires more than clearing a spot in the trees. Dura Land Solutions prepares residential home sites throughout Walker County and surrounding counties — addressing the clay soils, drainage challenges, and elevation requirements that determine whether your home's foundation performs for decades or begins causing problems within years.

Site Preparation for Barns
Dura Land Solutions prepares barn sites across East Texas — clearing the footprint, grading and compacting the pad, addressing drainage, and ensuring the ground underneath your barn is ready for the loads and conditions it'll face for the next 30 years. Whether you're building a hay storage barn, a horse barn, or a working agricultural building, the prep work beneath it determines how the structure performs and how long the floor lasts.

Slab Plumbing
Dura Land Solutions coordinates and performs under-slab plumbing rough-in as part of comprehensive site preparation for new residential and commercial construction in East Texas. Once the concrete is poured, there's no fixing a drain line that was installed at the wrong grade or a supply line that wasn't sleeved through the slab correctly. We handle the under-slab work before the pour so you're not cutting concrete to fix mistakes later.

Site Preparation for Every Build Type in East Texas
Site preparation is the work that happens between land clearing and construction — and getting it right determines whether the building that follows performs well for decades or develops problems in years two and three. Dura Land Solutions provides complete site preparation services in Huntsville, TX and across the region: building pad construction, subgrade preparation, rough and finish grading, and full site prep for metal buildings, barns, homes, and commercial structures.
Every build type has different site requirements. A barndominium slab needs a pad graded to drain aggressively away from the footprint on all sides. A metal building needs a compacted subgrade that won't settle under the weight of the structure. A commercial building pad must meet engineered compaction specifications and integrate with the site drainage plan. We understand these differences and build each pad to the specific requirements of what will sit on it.
Drainage Is the Foundation of Site Prep
East Texas receives over 50 inches of rainfall per year, and this region sees intense storm events — multiple inches in a matter of hours — that expose any weakness in site drainage design. Poor drainage at the site prep stage leads to foundation moisture, standing water in yards, and erosion that worsens with each rain season. We treat drainage as the first-order priority on every site: grading pads and surrounding areas so water moves away from structures cleanly, sizing swales and culverts for actual storm loads, and never leaving a site that will trap water against a foundation.

What's the difference between rough grading and final grade during site prep?
Rough grading moves the bulk of the earth — cutting high spots, filling low areas, establishing the overall drainage slope and building pad elevation. Final grade is the precision pass that brings the surface to exact finished elevations, ready for concrete, sod, or paving. Both are part of a complete site prep scope.
Do you work from engineered site plans?
Yes. For commercial projects and any residential project with a civil engineer involved, we work directly from the engineered plans and coordinate with your engineer throughout the earthwork scope. We can also provide site prep on non-engineered residential and rural projects where a formal civil plan isn't required.
Can you handle site prep for a barndominium on rural acreage?
Yes — barndominium site prep is one of our most common project types. We clear the building footprint, grade the pad, cut in the driveway, install culverts, and prepare any secondary pads in a single mobilization. Call (936) 355-3471 to discuss your build.
